The $10 Buy-In Multitable Tournament Will Donate 50 Percent of Proceeds to the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
Jennifer HarmanWhat better way to spend a Sunday evening than playing a $10 buy-in no-limit hold’em poker tournament with world-class poker pros and X-Games celebrities with a chance to win cash prizes, all while helping raise money to save animals?
Two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and high-stakes cash game pro Jennifer Harman has announced that she will host the Animal Lovers charity poker tournament on FullTiltPoker.com, benefiting the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA). The $10 buy-in no-limit hold’em event is this Sunday, March 16 at 9 p.m. EST.
As one of the founding Team Full Tilt members, Harman has rounded up a few other teammates to play in the event, including Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson, John Juanda, Phil Gordon, Erick Lindgren, Erik Seidel, Clonie Gowen, Andy Bloch, Mike Matusow, Gus Hansen, Allen Cunningham, and Kristy Gazes.
Also scheduled to compete in the event is professional motocross champion Jimmy “BTNFLY” Button, professional snowboarders Jeff “SMAKEbreak” Brushie, Ross Powers, and Kris “WheatSApuff” Swierz, as well as X-Games wakeboard medalists Parks “pbpbpb” Bonifay, Shane “jeanyes407” Bonifay, and Danny “d9bigtime” Harf.
Half of the prize pool will be donated to the NSPCA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting humane education and making referrals for lower-cost spay/neuter and vaccination services. The no-kill sanctuary fights to save animals from eradication, and the Animal Lovers event is looking to enhance the organization’s ability to expand facilities and services in order to protect hundreds of animals.
Registration for the tournament is open now and can be found by clicking the tournaments tab. Those who are new to Full Tilt can click here to download the software and take advantage of a deposit bonus through Card Player. Enter “ANIMALLOVERS” under the referral code to ensure the NSPCA continues to receive funding.
Harman also plans to hold a live tournament to benefit the NSPCA for the second-annual Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament in Las Vegas. Last year, the event took place at Caesars Palace and raised more than $130,000.
Direct donations can be made at the NSPCA’s website (click here). For more information and for ways to help the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, contact Nevada SPCA Executive Director Doug Duke at 702-873-7722 or write the Nevada SPCA at nevadaspca@aol.com.
