ONE OF THE MOST UNIQUE TIPS IN PHIL GORDON'S LITTLE GREEN BOOK, WAS PROVEN TO ME IN OUR SUNDAY MORNING MATCH ON JUNE 11TH. IT WAS DOWN TO THE FINAL 3 TABLES OUT OF THE 200 SOMETHING THAT STARTED AND I HAD A NICE STACK GOING. I WAS IN THE BIG BLIND AND HAD BEEN ANTEED INTO THE HAND AS WELL. I LOOKED DOWN AT POCKET 10S AND WAS MIFFED WHEN SOMEONE RAISED TO 1400 OR SO, EVERYONE BETWEEN US FOLDED AND I RAISED TO 2800 TO TEST THE WATERS SO TO SPEAK. THEY GOT REAL HOT WHEN MY OPPONENT RERAISED ALL IN! NOW IF I HAD ONLY REMEMBERED THE ADVICE THAT THE THIRD RAISE MEANS ACES I COULD HAVE LAID DOWN THE HAND. BUT STUPIDLY I CALLED FOR ALL MY CHIPS THAT I HAD WORKED SO HARD TO AQUIRE. ONE BRAIN FART AND ITS OVER JOHNNY! I ALSO SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT AT THAT STAGE MOST OF THE ACTION JUNKIES ARE ON THE RAIL OR LOOKING FOR A NEW ACTION FIX. NOT AT THE TABLES WITH A NICE SIZED STACK. SO REMEMBER FOLKS. THE NEXT TIME YOU SEE A THIRD RAISE ITS ACES! PLEASE TAKE PHIL'S ADVICE...........I WISH I DID

Absolutely...I completely agree with that. Some of us feel pot committed at that point and feel as a matter of both pride and irrationality that we have to call that all-in...Fact is that if our cards are not worth that pot size bet, then the only reasonable thing to do is fold those cards and save the battle for another hand.

Thanks for the advice Tom, to bad it had to come with such a high price. I do agree with you though all it takes is just one brain fart and it's all over baby! That's the single most thing that's the hardest to get over is that one hand you play with your guard down and your brain shut off.
