We have all heard play the Player not the Cards. Well this is very true…even in online poker. Whenever I play I like finding Fish and they are the players I want to put my money up against. I target them… and I do not need a great hand to play against them. I might play Ax, Ks or Q9. When you play these players you know that they are playing suited J, T7 or even my favorite 73. I normally wouldn’t play 1 of these 3 hands against Randy or Burke but against some players I would. You may ask how do I recognize a Fish

<*(((((><Well first thing I do when I get to the table is put on the locator. I watch for players seeing allot of flops, calling in early position, calling often late in the hand (turn and river) and finally using the last hand lookup and seeing what they thought was worth playing. If you see a player calling or even raising with J2 or any suited cards in early position…you just put a big bulls eye on his butt and your starting hands against them can be less than premium. Another big sign is a player that goes up and down in his chip count. These players are playing way too many hands and losing half of them. These players are great for adding to your stack and I would much rather play against one of these players than a player that knows the game. You do have to watch out though these guys do catch cards…watch for if they make small raises or calls with little or nothing and large raises when they catch a hand.
Another player I like to look for is the player that bets big if he catch any pair. Top medium or bottom pair…I call these players my little piggy bank. They go around taking 50, 100, 150 chips around the board saving them up for me. I wait until I catch a quality hand and let him bet, slow playing or check raising them on turn until he becomes pot committed and then bang…You end up with half his stack. The proper thing to do then is release him to collect some more chips for you. You can never have enough Fish in the pond so I like keeping these players in the game…they never learn you just catch and release, catch and release.
Using this method you will be able to play a lot more hands and also increase your profits and take the profits of others.
