okay so lately i've noticed the min raise thing has been getting out of control...that or i'm just starting to get annoyed by it. i've been playing on bodog exclusively for over 5 years now and while the min raise has always been around, it seems to be evolving into a frequently used strategy (i use that term loosely).
I understand using it if the blinds are high and youre the big stack going up against a smaller stack trying to get him off a hand.
I sorta understand it if you have the nuts and everyone is checking to you so you want to get a little value out of your hand.
I sorta understand using it to try to show weakness when actually you have the hand that killed elvis.
...so what other reasons are there that i'm missing? i always seem to take it as a sign of weakness and i'll pop a big re-raise..working most of the time. am i just putting to much thought into it. anymore, it's not just donks doing this. and like i said i understand doing it from time to time. i do it myself. it just seems like i see it all the time!!!
anyone else notice this evolving "strategy"? why do you all use it or why not?
maybe im just bored at work.....
