Card Player and Bodog are Teaming Up Again This Week to Offer Players Free Shots at $100,000
If last week was any indication, it seems that people like free money. The good news is, Bodog and Card Player like giving it away as much as people like getting it; that's why the two companies are partnering up to once again offer up to 27 Card Player readers free entry into Bodog's flagship tournament, the $100,000 guarantee.
Bodog plans to hold private freerolls, exclusive to Card Player readers, every weekend from now until the end of the NFL playoffs. CardPlayer.com will announce the password for each freeroll on the Friday preceeding the event in articles like this. The events will allow for a maximum of 540 entrants, but those seats fill up quickly (they were filled well before the start time of the tournament last weekend), so players are advised to sign up as early as possible to ensure themselves a seat. Bodog will put up $109 in tournament credits for every 20 entrants in the event, meaning there will likely be 27 free seats on the line tomorrow.
All players have to do is play in the Wildcard Private Freeroll at 5 p.m. Eastern time tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 5. The tournament can be found in the lobby of the Bodog software by clicking on the "Scheduled Tournament" tab, then the "Daily" tab, and then the "Private" radio button. The password to register for the freeroll tomorrow is "footballfever" (all lowercase).
Bodog is catering to the action junkies out there by making this edition of the freeroll series a turbo tournament (meaning the blinds will go up every six minutes, as opposed to every 12 minutes). Bodog anticipates that the entire tournament will last less than two hours.
The $100,000-guaranteed event, held every Sunday at 4 p.m. ET, has been showing an increased value as of late with overlays reaching nearly $40,000. The overlays mean more bang for a player's buy-in buck (or, in the case of Card Player readers, more bang for free), as the lower turnouts mean less competition for the paying spots and larger payouts for most of those who cash in the events. A representative from Bodog said that it is likely that the lower turnouts are because of the site's major demographic: sports-lovers who are pumped and tied up watching the wrap-up games of the football season.
